I was shooting downstairs for the photoshoot and interview that I was apart of and then the photo director casually said, “little mix is getting ready upstairs” and I turned around with half a bagel in my mouth saying “LITTLE MIX IS UPSTAIRS?” and everyone looked at me like I was crazy because I was the only person who knew who they were.

After I got done shooting, I went upstairs with my brother and we hung out on their photoshoot set and talked. Jesy was shooting at the moment so we couldn’t get a picture but I did sit down with her while she ate lunch and it was pretty awesome. There’s also a small video of me talking to them which I will post tomorrow!

They’re all absolutely wonderful and so nice, Perrie is definitely my favorite, she was the sweetest thing ever and I’m so happy I got to meet them and to be featured in the same magazine as them. I can honestly thank God for all of this.

Hearing from Allie Brosh has become this sacred, important thing. I know on the one hand we all want her brain here with us all the time, because watching her see the world helps us feel seen too (in the specific way that’s only brought on by people who’re good with words), but I kind of like an annual post. I don’t like the reason for her slow pace, obviously, but there’s something very intimate and instantly comfortable about her coming back to us when she does. Like a childhood friend you invite over on a visit home. Expectations low, a gesture out of respect for the past. But suddenly it’s two am and you’re on the couch watching an old DVD of Strangers with Candy and making each other laugh sleepy, sweatpants laughs against your respective couch cushions.

These posts are an old friendship that slides right into place when she’s with us and doesn’t have anything to prove to us in the meantime, and I’m incredibly thankful whenever she makes one.

Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe announced today that he’d be released from his team, and many suspect that his outspoken LGBT activism may be a contributing factor.

Months ago Kluwe famously sent a letter to a Maryland legislator berating him for suggesting Baltimore Ravens player Brendon Ayanbadejo be released for speaking out in favor of marriage equality. He’s been one of the faces of the allied movement for gay rights ever since.

Kluwe’s age, salary and Locke’s talent all are factors in Kluwe’s release. So is Kluwe’s willingness to be outspoken on a variety of issues, despite the usual “Punters are seen, not heard” mandate. Kluwe says he wouldn’t change a thing.

“I think the sacrifice would be worth it,” Kluwe told Chip Scoggins of the Star Tribune. “Now, I would hope that I would get the chance to play football again, because I think I can still play. But if it ends up being something that costs me that position, I think making people aware of an issue that is causing children to commit suicide is more important than kicking a leather ball.”

He’ll continue to be great wherever he ends up, football or not.

Oh dear God, srsly Vikings, what were you thinking letting a perfect human being like this go.
